Review of Prospective CNA Targeting and Onboarding Criteria
The CVE Board meeting was opened with recognition that the CVE Program had
recently enacted a temporary pause on onboarding new CNAs. The pause was to
ensure that onboarding guidelines were properly updated. Feedback from a recent
Council of Roots meeting was shared. Two actions were presented for the Board
to discuss: Updating the CNA criteria and setting onboarding process
requirements.
A presentation entitled "Reviewing CNA Prospect Onboarding Criteria" was
provided to the Board prior to the meeting, and the Board was informed that the
discussion focus would be on CNA recruiting and onboarding, with the
recommendation that future Board discussions could focus on quality of CVE
Records, and CNA inactivity.
As of February 24, 2025, there were no new CVE Records from 128 CNAs in the
last 365 days. Of these CNAs, 47 had been active for less than one year, and 81
had been active for more than a year. The Secretariat has been tracking these
metrics since April 2024.
A draft proposal was circulated for review by the Board during the meeting:
"Proposal for Updating CNA Recruitment and Onboarding Process." This document
provides Board members with a place to discuss and formalize clear criteria for
CNA selection and revised CNA onboarding requirements. Members were asked to
review the proposal.
The consensus on the next steps for CNA Onboarding was that:
1. The pause for announcing new CNAs will be lifted.
2. The Board will review and finalize the draft "Proposal for Updating CNA
requirements and Onboarding Process."
3. The Council of Roots will receive a draft of the proposal after the Board
reviews it, whereupon it will be sent back to the Board for approval.
